COVID-19: Advantage Learn are sharing their maths resources for free

The world has been shaken by the mass spread of COVID-19 and this virus has made its way across our nation. We are impressed at our Government’s response and are doing all we can to help slow the spread of this virus. This is something that is only stopped by us all working together.

Part of the policies put in place during this crisis is the closure of our schools which, by our estimate of the numbers, means that around 12 million learners will be unable to attend school for an unknown period and hence will have their education affected by COVID-19.

How we’re helping

  1. We are giving learners and educators access to our maths video content for free while schools are closed. We have over 2000+ video lessons taught by leading high school maths educators for the full CAPS syllabus from Grade8 – 12 and we are making them freely accessible as our public service during this complex and challenging time.
  2. We want to equip teachers across the country with what they will need to use our resources more effectively and keep their classes learning. Every week whilst needed we are going to be hosting a webinar to give teachers the opportunity to learn the tools that are available to them and to ask any questions they may have.

Maths video resources

Advantage Learn is a premium education provider and we’ve been building online learning solutions for the past 5 years. We are confident in our experience and know that the skills and the teaching resources we have developed are some of the best that are available to learners.

With that in mind, we have taken the decision to give away access to all of our high school Mathematics content, for free, to every learner within South Africa whilst the schools are closed. Why have we done this? To quote our President, “Together we are stronger”. We are a proudly South African company and we love our nation and want to help in any way we can.

The one way that we can help is by allowing South African high school learners to continue learning their Mathematics over this interrupted time. Our Mathematics experts recommend 30 – 60 minutes per day of online learning to keep your maths ticking until you get back to school.

Educator assistance

We know that educators are currently trying to navigate this difficult, unchartered territory right now and don’t want to bombard you with options to help, only the right ones. We believe that getting learners to use Advantage Learn’s maths video resources is a great way to keep them busy even when they might be confined to their homes.

We would like to encourage educators to use our maths platform by prescribing lessons to their learners that they can work through this content in their own time.

Educators are able to follow their learners and check in on their progress and, in our experience, it is most helpful if educators can tell learners exactly what you had planned to teach and guide them to the right Learning Path on AdvantageLearn.com.

Any educators who would like to learn how to use our maths resources can join us for one of our webinars… To find out more information about these webinars and to sign up for it, visit: advantagelearn.com/webinars
